Daniel Perez-Zarraga, AIA, Principal of the firm, founded Perez & Perez Architects Planners in 1984. With decades of experience in both public and private sector projects, he has led interdisciplinary teams through comprehensive planning, design, construction documentation, and construction administration, guiding complex developments from concept through completion.
His experience includes major civic and institutional projects throughout Miami-Dade County, including the Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse, as well as significant aviation work at Miami International Airport. His aviation experience includes multiple passenger terminal renovations and expansions, concourse developments, such as MIA North Terminal, South Terminal and Concourse H, and support facilities, along with extensive tenant improvement programs for American Airlines, including the AA Communications Center. These projects were delivered within active operational environments, requiring careful phasing, coordination, and stakeholder management. He also led the Metrorail Station at the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) and the LAN Cargo facility at Miami International Airport, coordinating complex, multi-agency operations and enhancing airport connectivity.
