Mr. Cruanyas is a seasoned architect with over four decades of professional experience in planning and architectural design. A graduate of the University of Miami (Bachelor of Architecture, 1978), he has been continuously engaged in professional practice since that time. He has been with the firm for 31 years and has served as a Partner for the past 15 years, playing a key leadership role in the direction, development, and execution of complex public and private sector projects.
His representative project experience includes major aviation and civic assignments such as MIA International Modifications; the MIA Concourse H Headhouse Renovation; the American Airlines North Terminal at Miami International Airport; and the Miami-Dade Children’s Courthouse. His transportation and educational portfolio include the Cypress Creek Tri-Rail Authority (TRA) Station and the Miami Springs Elementary Classroom Renovations. Across these projects, he has provided oversight in planning, design coordination, construction documentation, and construction administration within active operational environments.
Originally from Cuba, he immigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen. Through perseverance, dedication, and significant personal sacrifice, he worked his way through school while adapting to a new country and culture. This experience shaped his strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and appreciation for the responsibility architects carry in shaping communities and improving quality of life through thoughtful design. He remains passionate about his work and continues to apply decades of practical experience and leadership to every project he undertakes.
