The Eastside Canopy Project at Dadeland South Station provides continuous, sheltered access for passengers boarding the South Corridor BRT’s articulated electric buses. Spanning the connection between the Dadeland South Metrorail Station, Datran Center, and the South Dade Trail, the canopy enhances passenger flow and safety through expanded lighting, bicycle stairway guides, and integrated fare gates.
The design features lightweight, modern materials while maintaining visual consistency with the existing station, creating a cohesive and seamless transit experience. The project also includes a folded North Entrance canopy that integrates Kiss-and-Ride drop-off zones, park connections, and pedestrian pathways, reinforcing the station’s role as a vital multimodal transit hub.
